Reports: Ikea to Sell Second-Hand Furniture

KRONOBERG, Sweden--Known for its affordable furniture and accessories, Ikea has begun to sell used as well as new furniture, according to online reports. This week, the retailer began selling second-hand Ikea products online in Sweden, with the intention of extending the program to other foreign outlets.

"It is about taking an environmental responsibility for how our products are used in the longer term and making it easier for our customers to do their part for their responsibility towards the environment," Peter Agnefall, chief executive officer of Ikea Sweden told the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter.
