Lowe's Picks Jones to Head Merchandising, Szilagyi for Supply Chain

MOORESVILLE, N.C.-Lowe's has named Michael Jones chief merchandising officer, and has promoted Stephen Szilagyi to supply chain executive.

In his new post, Jones will oversee the merchandise offering for both Lowe's stores and lowes.com, and will be responsible for all global sourcing activities. He will also work with executives in customer-experience design, marketing, operations and logistics in overseeing overall Lowe's customer experiences. He will report to Gregory Bridgeford, chief customer officer.

Szilagyi will be responsible for overseeing Lowe's logistics and distribution network in expediting the replenishment of merchandise and supplies to all Lowe's stores. He will report to Rick Damron, chief operating officer.

Prior to his new appointment, Jones was executive vice president and president of Husqvarna North and Latin America. He also served in a number of executive and sales positions with General Electric.

Szilagyi joined Lowe's in 2001 as regional director of distribution. He was named vice president of distribution in 2002, and promoted to senior vice president in 2006.
