CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Accessories Resource Team (ART) is targeting industry professionals younger than 40 years of age with its new Under 40 associate group. The mission of the group is to provide education, mentoring and best-practice benchmarking opportunities for industry professionals in this age group. The group's first event will take place at Las Vegas Market, touring online retailer Zappos' corporate facility.
"The Board of Directors of ART recognized that many young people in this industry are generational and have not been exposed to ideas and experiences outside the industry," said Steve Crowder, GuildMaster and president of ART. "We wanted to provide a forum and structure for this learning to take place. ART plans to create an environment of fostering young professionals in order to retain this talent and recruit more of the same. This initiative creates the opportunity for unique activities targeted for this age group."
The first Under 40 event is scheduled for July 31 at 6 p.m., during the Las Vegas Market. The group will tour the Zappos corporate facility in Henderson, Nev., and learn about the Zappos family approach to customer loyalty, human resources, recruiting, training and culture creation, as well as the retailer's history and how it grew to earn $1 billion dollars in gross merchandise sales in less than 10 years, a release said. Transportation will be provided.
Anyone interested in attending the tour, joining the Under 40 group or joining ART should contact the ART office at 704-376-4278 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. One does not have to be an ART member to join the Under 40 group.
