Atlanta Rug Market Opens Today

The indoor/outdoor rug category will be a prominent theme at market

AmericasMartBuilding1ATLANTA—The summer edition of the Atlanta International Area Rug Market begins today as the rug industry descends here to see the newest rug collections.

The indoor/outdoor rug category continues to grow at this market. Karastan will debut its first U.S.-made collection for this category, called Portico, at market, while Jaipur will add three new collections and 45 additions to its existing lines in indoor/outdoor. Kas will highlight its Retreat collection, and Amer will add to its indoor/outdoor offering with Paramount, a flatwoven group.

United Weavers will debut its licensed line with “Brady Bunch” actor Christopher Knight.

New rug showrooms include Company C and Colorfields, which debut in a shared showroom, 5-E-6, in Building 1. Oriental Designer Rugs opens its first showroom, on the third floor of Building 1. Rug events today include “Walking the Market with Phil Menendian and ORRA Members,” from 2-3 p.m. beginning in Seminar Room 4-B-1 in Building 1.

Other market events today include the Mixology Class with JP Atlanta from 3:30-5 p.m. at the Demonstration Kitchen on Floor 8 of Building 2. Evening events include the Tenant & Exhibitor Appreciation Party, featuring the Yacht Rock Revue, from 6-9 p.m. at The Tabernacle, within walking distance from AmericasMart, as well as AmericasMart Night at the Georgia Aquarium, also 6-9 p.m.
