SUGAR VALLEY, Ga.-Bob Timberlake, a realist artist known for his Americana style, has inked an agreement for a licensing collection with Mohawk Home. The initial five collections, which will debut this July at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market and the Las Vegas Market, will include a new construction for Mohawk Home: braided rugs.
The Bob Timberlake collections will be their own brand and will feature several styles including contemporary, traditional, transitional and lodge. They will include woven rugs made of soft, renewably resourced SmartStrand, rugs crafted of Permastrand, printed nylon rugs and braided rugs. Mohawk Home and Timberlake will celebrate the new partnership in Atlanta with a wine-and-cheese event on Wednesday, July 9 in Karastan's AmericasMart showroom, 3-A-1.
"Bob Timberlake is an exceptional designer," said Brandon Culpepper, vice president of specialty sales for Mohawk Home. "We are excited to execute his color and design ideas for the rug market with our advanced fiber technology. Together, we can offer amazingly beautiful rugs made of a variety of high-performance fibers. We don't often forge these types of collaborations, but this one seems a perfect fit: a well-known American designer with a company that values made-in-the-USA products. With Bob Timberlake, we feel a real synergy and an opportunity to do some truly creative things."
Timberlake added, "After 101 years of my family being involved in the home furnishings industry and having worked with the finest people in the world, I consider working with Mohawk to be the pinnacle of my design career in floor coverings."
Timberlake previously had a licensing agreement with Shaw Living.
