CALHOUN, Ga.-Mohawk Industries has released its second annual sustainability report, detailing the company's efforts to promote sustainable business practices throughout the world.

The report is available online at mohawksustainability.com. It describes how the company has elevated sustainability through expansion into new markets that will lower the energy costs associated with transporting materials over long distances; through health and wellness initiatives that ensure a more sustainable work force, and through recycling efforts intended to save millions of gallons of water and thousands of trees worldwide.

The report follows guidelines established by Global Reporting Initiative, an organization that provides a framework for disclosure of environmental, social and governance performance measures. In preparing the report, Mohawk's sustainability team enlisted FIRA, a Netherlands-based company that validates and analyzes sustainability data according to Global Reporting Initiative standards.
