CALHOUN, Ga.-Rocky Casteel has succeeded Bill Kilbride, who will retire at the end of June.

Casteel began his career with American Rug Craftsmen in 1990. In 1996, he became vice president and general manager of the tufted rug division of a start-up company called American Weavers, a company that grew rapidly and was acquired by Mohawk in 1998. Back at Mohawk, he eventually became general manager for all of Mohawk Home's product categories and was instrumental in integrating Karastan Rug into the business in 2008. Most recently, he served as Mohawk Home's COO.

Kilbride has headed up Mohawk's rug business for more than two decades. He began his career in the rug industry when in 1992 he was hired to lead American Rug Craftsmen, which was acquired by Mohawk in 1993. During the next 20 years, Kilbride expanded the scope of Mohawk Home's business by reaching new customers, introducing new product categories such as crumb rubber mats, innovating existing lines, providing unparalleled service to all retail channels and responding to evolving consumer preferences with fashion-forward designs. In 2010, Kilbride added the title of Chief Sustainability Officer, and under his leadership Mohawk launched a number of waste reduction and repurposing initiatives and began to more completely share the company's sustainability story through a comprehensive annual report.

"After more than two decades with Mohawk Home, I can look at our future management team with confidence in their skills and appreciation for their values," Kilbride said. "I can also look at our sustainable practices with a tremendous sense of pride and satisfaction."

"It has been an honor and privilege to work with Bill over the last 22 years," said Casteel. "I am very blessed to have the opportunity to build on the foundation Bill has laid for our company. It's also a responsibility I take very seriously. Our fundamental mission to exceed customer expectations by offering product innovation, great values, and exceptional service will not change."
