DALTON, Ga.-This week at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, Oriental Weavers will debut the first group of four collections under its new Pantone Universe license, which it announced earlier this year. The lines will include bold, handcrafted flatweaves, brilliant shags and a collection inspired by mid-century expressionists' art. One of the new collections, called Prismatic, is comprised of printed, hand-carved nylon area rugs, which feature a subtle, sophisticated look with Pantone's nuanced shades of Antique Moss, Peppercorn, Lavender Herb, Black Iris and Posy Green. The Prismatic collection will retail for $199 in the 5-by-8.

"Pantone was a natural partner for Oriental Weavers for many reasons," said Jonathan Witt, vice president of Oriental Weavers. "Both companies are known for leading their respective industries in cutting edge color and design. We could not be more excited about our first round of Pantone Universe introductions. Our customers rely on Pantone's color tools and fashion forecasts on a daily basis, and we are excited to now be a part of that process."

Ron Potesky, senior vice president and general manager of Pantone, added, "Partnering with Oriental Weavers lets us further extend Pantone's color expertise and design sense to the consumer. Color has the ability to transform a room and a mood, and now consumers can confidently add on-trend color and easily coordinate home decor with Pantone Universe products."

Oriental Weavers and Pantone will celebrate the new license with a launch party this Thursday, July 11, from 4-7 p.m. in Oriental Weavers' showroom, 3-A-2, during the market.
