AHFA Offers Eco3Home Program
September 22, 2010,
HIGH POINT, N.C.-The American Home Furnishings Alliance has announced a furniture labeling program. Eco3Home is designed to communicate health, safety, and environmental features to consumers.
Kincaid Furniture's Homecoming collection will be the pilot program for Eco3Home at the High Point Market.
The Eco3Home labels will identify products that meet certain qualifications, including meeting or exceeding federal health and safety standards and industry-adopted voluntary standards, and that are produced by companies that are engaged in efforts to conserve water and energy, reduce waste, and increase recycling. Companies must also take measures to improve environmental issues in their supply chains.
Companies who want to take part in the Eco3Home product registration must complete AHFA's EFEC environmental management and Sustainable by Design programs.
The AHFA will begin reviewing Eco3Home registration applications in January 2011. For more information, e-mail Bill Perdue at email@example.com.
