Furniture Industry Group Plans High Point Lunch for Young Members

nahfa-logoROSEVILLE, Calif.-Enthusiasm for the North American Home Furnishings Association's recent luncheon program for younger members has prompted another such gathering at High Point Market in October.

Lunch with Leaders was held for Next Generation Now members at Las Vegas Market last month. City Furniture President Keith Koenig, Gallery Furniture President Jim McIngvale and Steinhafels President Gary Steinhafel met with 18 Next Generation Now members in the Serta and Simmons showrooms and NAHFA's Retail Resource Center. "Jim McIngvale was beyond inspiring to talk with," Emily Severson, a Next Generation Now member from FurnitureDealer.net, said in a statement issued by NAHFA. "His experience and passion make it easy to remember why I love this industry and my devotion to doing my part to keep this industry flourishing."

Koenig called the event "fun and interactive." He said, "I learned more from them about their generation's expectations, as customers and as employees, than they learned from me."

This was NAHFA's third Lunch with Leaders series, and due to the enthusiasm and response from participants, it will become a regular offering of the Next Generation Now group at markets, NAHFA said. The next Lunch with Leaders will be held Sunday, Oct. 19 at High Point Market.
