Guy to Be Honored as "Design Icon" at Las Vegas Market

LAS VEGAS--Designer Christopher Guy will be recognized as a "Design Icon" by World Market Center Las Vegas during the January Las Vegas Market.

When he receives the award, Guy will join a list of honorees that includes Juan Montoya, Vicente Wolf, Roger Thomas, Vladimir Kagan and Larry Laslo. Randy Wells, vice president of the Las Vegas Design Center cited, Guy's furniture designs which blend glamor with traditional craftsmanship to create "an unmistakable signature esthetic that will endure for many years to come." Guy will speak about his story and design outlook when he receives the award on Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. in room 176 of building C.

The "Design Icon" award is part of the Design Series, which will also spotlight women in hospitality design, in a panel titled "Las Vegas Divas of Design." Also part of the series is a tour of The Smith Center of the Performing Arts, which is directly across the street from the World Market Center and which is scheduled open in 2012.
