Leggett & Platt Nominated for Sage Award

CARTHAGE, Mo.-Leggett & Platt Home Furniture Components was nominated for the home furnishings industry's Sage Award for environmental excellence.

The Sage Award, launched in 2008 by the American Home Furnishings Alliance and Cargill's BiOH, is presented to environmental innovators in the home furnishings and bedding industries. The competition is open to retail, manufacturing and supplier companies.

Leggett & Platt was named one of two finalists for the Sage Award in response to its environmental progresses.

All 13 of the company's HFC facilities implement the American Home Furnishings Alliance's Enhancing Furniture's Environmental Culture voluntary environmental management system.

As one of two Sage Award finalists, Leggett & Platt will be featured in a customized video spotlighting its environmental achievements at the 2012 Furniture Industry Sustainability Summit in Raleigh, N.C., in February, as well as on the Sage Award website SageAward.org.
