Paul Heifetz Dies at 83

WESTON, Conn.-Paul Heifetz, a long-time executive with Raymor-Moreddi, has died. He was 83.

After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Heifetz starting his home furnishings career working for his stepfather at The Heifetz Lamp Company in New York in the early 1950s.

He then joined Raymor-Moreddi as vice president of sales at its offices at 225 Fifth Avenue, New York. He worked for Raymor-Moreddi for more than 35 years, rising to executive vice president, and he was a familiar figure at the High Point furniture markets.

Heifetz founded a marble table and accessory company in the late 1970s known as H&Z Marbleworks, selling to accounts such as Bloomingdales and Crate & Barrel.

He later retired to paint full-time. He also served on numerous municipal commissions and boards for Weston, Conn.

He is survived by Pat Heifetz, his wife of 58 years, and four children.

A remembrance will be held for him on Oct. 10, at noon in the Community Room at the Weston Public Library.
