Anolon Stars in Cooking Competition Shows
March 23, 2011,
VALLEJO, Calif.-Meyer Corp.'s Anolon brand will be the cookware, bakeware, cutlery, tools and gadgets used by contestants on two weekly television series: NBC's "America's Next Great Restaurant," which premiered earlier this month, and Food Network's second season of "24 Hour Restaurant Battle," which premieres on April 21.
NBC's "America's Next Great Restaurant" showcases people vying for the opportunity to see their original restaurant concept come to fruition. Providing the funding as well as the mentoring are celebrity chefs and television hosts Bobby Flay and Curtis Stone; Steve Ells, the founder, chairman and co-CEO of Chipotle; and Lorena Garcia, executive chef and restaurateur. The selected winner will be awarded the financial backing to launch his or her own restaurant chain in three locations -- Hollywood, Minneapolis and New York City.
In the Food Network's "24 Hour Restaurant Battle," aspiring restaurateurs battling in teams of two have 24 hours to conceptualize, organize and open their original restaurant for one night. Celebrity chef Scott Conant is the host, and judges will choose one winning team to receive $10,000.
The show will take place from March 28 to March 30.
