Best New Housewares Products Recognized in NY

NEW YORK-The first annual Best New Product Awards at the Gourmet Housewares Show have been presented, with Joseph Joseph receiving Best of Show honors for its four-piece baking set.

In addition, awards were given in three product-specific categories: cookware (cookware, bakeware, and small electronics); dining (serveware, bar/wine accessories, picnic/barbecue accessories, and specialty foods); and kitchen preparation (kitchen gadgets, kitchen textiles, cookbooks, and storage/containers). The Gourmet Housewares Show debuted this week at the New York International Gift Fair and ends today.

"The Gourmet Housewares Show is overflowing with quality and innovation," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and senior vice president at GLM, which owns and operates the show. "The winners and finalists were recognized for product design and performance which reached a higher standard."

In the cookware category, Woll Cookware won for its German-engineered Diamond Plus Fry Pan. In the dining category, the Corkcicle wine chiller won, and in the kitchen preparation category, Zoku's Zoku Character Kit won.

Winners and finalists in each category were selected by a panel of trade editors based on innovative design, creative use of materials/construction and use of new materials/technology. There were approximately 100 entries.
