Bissell Debuts Lift-Off Deep Cleaner

NEW YORK-Bissell used yesterday's Affordable Innovation event hosted by the International Housewares Association to display its new Lift-Off Deep Cleaner.

The new vacuum is a two-in-one product that is a full-size upright deep cleaner for entire rooms and a portable spot cleaner for stairs, upholstery and car interiors. For room carpets, the Lift-Off injects Bissell's cleaning formula deep into carpet fibers, and uses dual rotating brushes to loosen ground-in dirt and grit. An edge-to-edge suction lifts the dirt from the carpet.

The portable spot cleaner is used by detaching it from the main unit, and includes a flexible hose and cleaning tools. The whole unit is designed with a built-in water heater to maximize the cleaning effectiveness.

The Lift-Off is priced to retail at $259.99, and will be available in stores later this month.

Many expected 2016 would be a banner year, but the political and economic climate softened consumer confidence. It was also a year consumers spent more lavishly on home remodeling rather than decorating.
