PORTLAND, Ore.-CDN is donating more than 1,000 kitchen thermometers to Catalyst Kitchens, a collaborative national network of non-profit organizations that assists the homeless and individuals in need in training and finding employment in the foodservice industry.
These non-profit organizations aid the homeless by hosting foodservice training programs in food banks, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. CDN's thermometers will be used for hands-on in-house training in foodservice skills while preparing fresh, nutritious food for the homeless and disadvantaged that visit the shelters. Food safety is a vital part of the job training that will prepare participants to make them eligible for foodservice employment.
"We're happy to provide thermometers to Catalyst Kitchens' member organizations. We recognize the importance of food safety education and the vital role that thermometers play in exercising proper food safety practices," said Shawn DiGruccio, vice president of CDN
