Chef'n Corp. Receives Federal Anti-Terrorism Validation

SEATTLE-Chef'n has received Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism validation, a federal initiative that aims on improving the security of private company supply chains against terrorism. A voluntary program, it was launched in November 2001 in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Chef'n has worked to ensure compliance with the program, and also assisted its factories and warehouses in staying secure and up to date with C-TPAT compliance. In August 2011, agents from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency visited Chef'n's domestic warehouse outside Los Angeles as well as its main factories overseas to verify compliance with the new program. Chef'n said the certification means less time in customs and shorter lead times for customers.

"Chef'n has chosen to work only with providers who are C-TPAT certified, so it only made sense for us to achieve the status as well," said Megan Evert, Chef'n's director of operations. "Gaining the

certification means there will be fewer customs inspections, which translates into lower costs and shorter lead times for our customers."
