Eastman Chemical Launches Website on Tritan Product Safety

KINGSPORT, Tenn.-In time for the holidays, Eastman Chemical Company has launched a product safety website for consumers, brand owners, manufacturers and media at TritanSafe.com.

The site will serve as a resource on plastics and the safety of Eastman Tritan copolyester and will address consumer questions about plastic safety during the holiday season. Current content includes "10 tips for safely storing and re-using holiday leftovers" and "Plastic Safety FAQs."

Since its introduction in 2007, Tritan has been used in more than 600 food-contact products, from serving and storage products to reusable sports bottles, baby bottles and small appliances. It also has been added to China's list of materials suitable for use in food contact applications, allowing manufacturers to use it for China's durable food contact materials market.
