Electrolux to Skip Housewares Show

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Electrolux Small Appliances has chosen not to exhibit at this year's International Home + Housewares Show.

In a statement sent to HFN, Marty O'Gorman, president of Electrolux Small Appliances-North America, attributed "this difficult decision" to the "current economic headwinds, the challenging global outlook for the next year and ESA-NA's commitment to employees and shareholders." Electrolux said it will reallocate resources to bolster the launch of its Frigidaire Professional line of small appliances, support the Eureka AirSpeed collection of floor-care products and build on the new technologies coming for the Electrolux floor-care brand.

"At the moment, we are focused on our 2012 goals and what we can control: driving profitable growth with consumer-inspired innovation," O'Gorman said. "Consumers today are looking for quality products with lasting value at an affordable price, and we are well positioned to continue meeting that need and have a solid year in 2012 and beyond."
