EveryWare to Expand Capacity at Pennsylvania Facility

EveryWare GlobaLANCASTER, Ohio-EveryWare Global plans to spend $1.8 million on expanding its manufacturing facility in Monaca, Pa., in support of Walmart's commitment to buy an additional $50 billion in U.S.-made products over the next 10 years.

The factory will produce a new line of made-in-the-U.S.A. glass Mainstays Canning Jars for Walmart, according to an EveryWare statement. The company joined Walmart U.S. President and CEO Bill Simon, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and two other Walmart supplies--Louis Hornick and Co. (whose new South Carolina facility was reported by HFN in today's e-newsletter) and Elan Polo--at a press conference during today's SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington, held to announce these initiatives.

The event was a follow-up to Walmart's U.S. manufacturing summit held in Orlando in August, which brought more than 500 suppliers and government officials to discuss opportunities for increased domestic manufacturing. "Investing in U.S. manufacturing is critical to the long-term success in our business," said John Sheppard, EveryWare's CEO. "We have had a strong relationship with Walmart for almost 25 years and have witnessed firsthand their commitment to customers, to better and smarter manufacturing, and their contributions to local and national economic development."
