George Foreman Brand Launches Recipe Contest, Joins Effort Against Obesity

MIRAMAR, Fla.-The George Foreman line of electric indoor grills has debuted a recipe contest with Meal Makeover Moms and has become part of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation.

The recipe contest--in conjunction with dieticians Janice Newell Bissex and Liz Weiss, the Meal Makeover Moms--asks consumers to share their favorite lean burger recipes using the George Foreman grill. The recipes can be uploaded on the George Foreman Facebook page, for a chance to win $1,000 in cash and one of three $100 gift certificates for GeorgeForemanCooking.com. The deadline is June 6.

As a member of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation, George Foreman grills will take part in the organization's national Together Counts effort, designed to help reduce obesity, especially among children. According to a statement from Russell Hobbs, parent of the George Foreman brand, the grills are the first and so far only small kitchen-appliance brand to be part of the foundation.
