GMCR Promotes Degnan to Chief Legal Officer

WATERBURY, Vt.-Michael Degnan has been named chief legal officer and corporate general counsel for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), effective March 31.

Degnan has been GMCR's vice president and associate general counsel since January 2011. In his new role, he will succeed Howard Malovany, chief legal officer, corporate general counsel and secretary, who is retiring.

Degnan joined GMCR in 2006, when the company acquired Keurig, the manufacturer of single-serve coffee-brewing systems. He came to Keurig in 2004 as corporate counsel, became vice president, corporate counsel and secretary in 2005, and was named general counsel shortly afterward.

Succeeding Malovany as secretary will be Sonia Cudd, who will add this post to her current duties as vice president and associate general counsel-corporate. Cudd has served in her current role since April 2012.
