Helen of Troy Closes on Healthy Directions Acquisition

HelenOfTroyEL PASO, Texas-Helen of Troy has completed its acquisition of Healthy Directions, the manufacturer of vitamins, minerals, supplements and other health products.

The purchase price was about $195 million in cash, subject to certain customary closing adjustments.

Julien Mininberg, Helen of Troy's CEO, described the deal as "a great strategic fit" for the company. "The advantages of Healthy Directions' business model (direct-to-consumer distribution; doctor-branded offerings of vitamins, minerals and supplements which encourage repeat purchases; strong sales momentum) are expected to drive continued positive sales and earnings opportunities for its core business and other health and wellness businesses at Helen of Troy."
