iRobot Names Dean EVP, Cerda SVP

BEDFORD, Mass.-iRobot has promoted Alison Dean to executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Dean, who will begin in her new post on April 5, will assume responsibility for the company's finance and operations. She will report directly to CEO Colin Angle and will succeed John Leahy, who is leaving iRobot to join what a company statement described as a "late-stage private company."
In addition, Christian Cerda has been named senior vice president and general manager of the home robots business unit.
In his new role, Cerda is in charge of the unit, with a particular emphasis on building on iRobot's domestic and international expansion and product development. He reports to Jeff Beck, the company's chief operating officer, who previously held this position.
Cerda comes to iRobot after a 16-year stint with Whirlpool, where he held a number of posts in sales, marketing, brand communications, product development and operations. His most recent position with the appliance giant was general manager of what an iRobot statement described as "one of the company's most important sales channels."
