Jarden Acquires Quickie

NEW YORK--Jarden Corp. has purchased Quickie Manufacturing Corp. in a deal that moves the consumer-products giant into the stick-goods market.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed in a statement from Centre Partners Management, Quickie's previous owner. The company's current management, led by President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Magerman, and employees will continue to run the operation--which includes headquarters in Cinnaminson, N.J., and production facilities in Lumberton, N.C., El Paso, Texas, and Cadereyta, Mexico.

Quickie's product line includes mops, brooms, brushes, dusting tools and related accessories.
