Keni Thomas, "Blackhawk Down" Ranger, to Keynote IHA CHESS Conference

ROSEMONT, Ill.-Keni Thomas, U.S. Army ranger who was involved in the "Blackhawk Down" mission and a country-music performer, will deliver the keynote address at the International Housewares Association's Chief Housewares Executive SuperSession (CHESS) this fall.

Thomas will share stories on his experiences, using the courage he saw demonstrated as an illustration of how to develop leadership in any situation, especially in business. The mission, which was the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993 and which involved an effort to capture the Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid, was turned into a feature film that was released in 2001.

The 2012 CHESS will also offer sessions on business issues including an overview of global markets and trends, dot-com strategies, minimum-advertised-price strategies, a business climate forecast and updates on the 2012 election and industry issues. It is scheduled for Oct. 16-17 at The InterContinental Chicago O'Hare here.
