CHARLESTON, N.C.-Le Creuset is a sponsor of the International Association of Culinary Professionals' 2011 Kids in the Kitchen program, which takes place during the IACP Conference in Austin, Texas June 1 to 4. On Wednesday, June 1, 20 fourth and fifth graders from the University of Texas Elementary School will join White House pastry chef Bill Yosses, IACP and Le Creuset for a hands-on, garden-to-table cooking class.

The class will first harvest seasonal produce at the university, and then go to the Culinary Center at the Whole Foods Market flagship store to create a meal. IACP members will work with students and families to help prepare the meal, and small groups will take shopping tours through the market to collect additional ingredients. Le Creuset has provided partial funding, student prizes and all cookware for the event.

"We are honored to be working with IACP as sponsor of the 2011 Kids in the Kitchen program," said Will Copenhaver, director of communications for Le Creuset of America. "Le Creuset is committed to enhancing the lives of children across America through a variety of culinary educational programs such as this, and we look forward to announcing additional like-minded initiatives in the coming months."
