Lifetime Brands Wins Grocery Honors
March 12, 2014,
GARDEN CITY, N.Y.-Lifetime Brands has been selected by supermarket giant Ahold USA as 2013 Non-Perishable Vendor of the Year.
Ahold USA operates four divisions--Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover, and Giant/Martin's--that together operate more than 770 supermarkets in 14 states and the District of Columbia, as well as e-grocer Peapod. Lifetime Brands is an exclusive supplier for Ahold USA's Smart Living private label kitchen tools, gadgets, and cookware, and contributes to the design of the Smart Living packaging for these items. Lifetime Brands also supplies Ahold USA with a variety of other housewares products.
Sales for the Smart Living private label brand increased by more than 20 percent in 2013, with sales numbers for the products provided by Lifetime Bands outpacing overall Ahold USA GM department sales, according to a statement from Lifetime. This increase in sales was accomplished with less space in the store than held by Lifetime Brands the previous year.
"We at Lifetime Brands are proud and honored to be recognized by Ahold USA as Non-Perishable Vendor of the Year. We appreciate our business partnership, and are excited that we've been able to work together to exceed sales growth targets. The entire Lifetime Brands team will continue to work hard every day to bring value and innovation to the Ahold USA shopper, and quality, service, and reliability to the Ahold USA merchandising team," said Mike Doyle, senior vice president of sales, Lifetime Brands.
