LS Arts to Debut Designer Cheeseboards in Atlanta

TAMARAC, Fla.-LS Arts will debut its first designer cheeseboard collection, from watercolor and mixed-media artist Linda Altshuler this January. Available in three design groups--birds, flowers and wine bottles--each piece is a print from an original painting.

Made of tempered glass, the collection is offered in 10-by-8-inch and 9-inch-square sizes and a 12-inch wine bottle shape, and each serving set is wrapped in cellophane and accompanied with a beaded spreader. The collection will debut at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market next month, and Altshuler will sign prints of her artwork Jan. 13-15 in the Southern Link Showroom in Building 2, showroom #1613, as well as in the LSArts showroom, Building 2 West Wing, showroom #887B.

The collection has about nine original works from Altshuler now, said Katie Rahmer, sales manager, LS Arts, with four more plus a holiday piece to come next month. "We wanted to use real art work rather than stock photography to set ourselves apart in the market," she said. The new collection corresponds to the company's new theme/tagline for 2013: "Give the Gift of Art."

Altshuler began painting flowers 14 years ago, during a summer in North Carolina, and those flowers--pansies, roses and sunflowers--are now featured on the cheeseboards. She was inspired to paint birds after placing a bird feeder in her backyard. "I produce my best work in North Carolina," she said. "I'm so inspired there." She divides her time painting between Asheville, N.C. and Southern Florida.
