Summer School in Session for Gourmet Catalog

Top Chef Fabio VivianiFabio Viviani will attend Summer School

DALLAS-Gourmet Catalog & Buying Group will host its 5th Annual Retail Summer School Event during the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market this summer.

The event, which will take place July 9-10 at AmericasMart, enables housewares vendors, 10 of whom have been added to the group this year, to educate Gourmet Catalog retail members about their products and offer demonstrations and have in-depth discussions. In addition, chef Fabio Viviani, a fan favorite from "Top Chef," will introduce Picnic Time's new Heritage Collection, and chef, author and grilling expert Elizabeth Karmel will present her new line of everyday essentials in collaboration with Revol.

In a statement issued by Gourmet Catalog, Kathy Oelschlager, president of Provisions Gourmet in Roanoke, Va., said she found Retail Summer School worthwhile to her store. "After being in business for 15 years, I still learn something in every class I attend." Todd Myers, Wusthof's vice president of sales to independent retailers, said, "The event is a great opportunity for us at Wusthof to get together with our key customers to share what's new. We wouldn't miss it."

"Summer School has become such an important event for our store and vendor members," said Janis Johnson, founder and president of Gourmet Catalog. "The intimate demonstrative setting allows vendors to present products effectively and stores walk away with valuable knowledge they won't find anywhere else. We can't wait to see everyone in July."
