Whirlpool to Build New Tennessee Plant for Premium Cooking Products
September 2, 2010,
BENTON HARBOR, Mich.-Whirlpool plans to build a new manufacturing facility in Cleveland, Tenn., to produce premium cooking products.
Measuring about 1 million square feet, the new factory will replace the existing, 100-year-old plant already in that community and will produce premium ranges, cooktops and ovens. The project will also include a distribution center measuring 400,000 square feet. A Whirlpool statement said the company will invest $120 million in the new facility, which is expected to add 130 jobs to the current level of 1,500 employees in Cleveland.
