Williams-Sonoma Marks Grand Opening of Four Australian Stores

SAN FRANCISCO-Williams-Sonoma, Inc. celebrated the opening of four stores in the Bondi Junction suburb of Sydney, Australia today.

Today the company also launched fully transactional websites with in-country shipping for all four of its brands: williams-sonoma.com.au, potterybarn.com.au, potterybarnkids.com.au and westelm.com.au. In addition, catalogs for each of the brands, created specifically for Australian shoppers, will arrive on doorsteps of Sydney-area residents this week.

"It's an exciting day for us," said Laura Alber, president and CEO, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. "Multichannel retailing is a hallmark of our family of brands. We're thrilled to open these four stores in Sydney, launch their corresponding websites and introduce customers to our inspiring catalogs."

As previously reported, the four stores are the first retail locations outside of North America to be owned and operated by Williams-Sonoma, Inc. as part of its overall global expansion strategy.
