RICHMOND, Va.-Carpenter has teamed up with television actress Betty White for a consumer-education campaign highlighting the benefits of a better night's sleep.

Sponsored by Carpenter's SleepBetter.org Web site, the campaign will use a range of initiatives, social media, media appearances, events and specially commissioned research to raise awareness about the importance of a good night's sleep. White will serve as spokeswoman for the initiative. The theme and elements of the campaign will be announced later this month, a Carpenter statement said.

White's career includes regular roles on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Golden Girls." During the Super Bowl in February, she was featured in a commercial for Snickers, and she is slated to host "Saturday Night Live" next month.
