Mattress Firm to Unveil Air-Conditioned Mattress

HOUSTON-Mattress Firm will introduce YuMe, which the specialty retailer has described as the world's first air-conditioned mattress, at the State Fair of Texas tomorrow.

The company developed the mattress in a partnership with Amerigon, a manufacturer of climate-control seating for automobiles and developer of thermoelectric materials. The mattress incorporates the same technology used in luxury autos to heat and cool seats with ambient air. In a statement announcing the new mattress, Mattress Firm noted that sleep experts say temperature plays an important role in proper sleep, although the ideal temperature for good sleep varies from person to person.

The YuMe mattress will be on display at the Mattress Firm booth at the state fair, which will be located in Booth #1 of the Centennial Building in Dallas.
