Simmons Facility Receives Safety Honor
February 12, 2010,
ATLANTA-The North Carolina Department of Labor has honored Simmons' factory in Charlotte as a participant in its Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).
SHARP is an Occupational Safety and Health Administration program that recognizes companies that have provided exemplary safety and health environments for their employees. According to a Simmons statement, the Charlotte facility has gone more than 780 days without a recordable safety incident. During 2008 and 2009, the plant had no recordable safety incidents, making it one of the safest work sites in North Carolina, the statement said.
