Simmons Launches QR Tag Technology

ATLANTA-Simmons has introduced a quick-response (QR) tagging application for mattresses from its 2010 Beautyrest line.

The tags are barcode-like visuals that can be scanned or read by "smart" phones such as the iPhone, Droid or Blackberry. Once scanned, the tags make additional information, images and videos available to the user via the phone's Web browser, providing consumers with additional details and demonstrations of the products.

The new technology debuted at J.C. Penney stores on Friday, according to a statement from Simmons.
