House Beautiful Returns to San Francisco with 10th Annual ‘Kitchen of the Year’

HouseBeautiful KitchenoftheYearSAN FRANCISCO—Local designer Jon de la Cruz of DLC-ID is bringing his expertise to the 10 th House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year as part of the 2017 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.

De la Cruz, who is known for his modern, timeless and inventive interiors, will celebrate the love of food and entertaining in the house at 2698 Pacific Avenue that is home to a busy family with eight school-aged children, including two sets of twins.

Included in three-part kitchen design are a main breakfast area, baking section and scullery. An adjacent mail/mudroom and dining area are also incorporated into the kitchen design. Among the appliances being used are the Thermador 60-inch Combination Steam Oven and Thermador’s new 36-inch refrigerator and freezer columns.

In addition to Thermador, other returning product sponsors are Caesarstone, Corbett Lighting, CSL-Creative Systems Lighting, DXV by American Standard, Farrow & Ball, Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery, Grohe, Grothouse, Hudson Valley Lighting, Kate Spade New York, Lee Industries, Lenox, Leviton, Matthew Quinn Collection, The Mine, Troy Lighting and Woodward. New this year are Blisshaus pantry products, Fireclay Tile, Haussmann Stone and JWH Design & Cabinetry.

This is de la Cruz’s second Kitchen of the Year project: In 2015 he worked with Ken Fulk on the House Beautiful kitchen in New Orleans.
