IMM Cologne Offers Buyer Program; Czech Designer to Create Installation

COLOGNE, Germany—Koelnmesse’s imm cologne will showcase the work of lighting designer Lucie Koldova in its Das Haus installation this January, as well as offer a VIP program for qualified buyers.

Now in its seventh year, the Das Haus – Interiors on Stage installation looks at how people live at home today, inviting an international designer to use architecture, interior design and furniture in a simulated house at the show. For the upcoming show, scheduled for Jan 15-21 here, imm cologne will have Prague designer Lucie Koldova create the installation, to be located in Hall 2.2 of the Pure segment.

“In 2018, we are focusing on the subject of light and emphasizing its importance as a creative design element,” said Dick Spierenburg, the creative director of imm cologne. Koldova’s appointment signals a return to Europe for Das Haus, and focusing on the Czech Republic’s glassware expertise, he said. In particular, imm cologne was "impressed with her lamp designs. They reveal an ideal combination of materials like wood, brass and copper with the lustrous quality of glass that has been blown to the limits of what is technically possible—they are remarkable."

In addition, imm cologne announced a new visitor program for attendees from North America. Targeting selected buyers and sourcing agents, the IMM VIP buyer program will offer free admission as well as access to a range of VIP services.
