Pier 1 Pops Up Holiday Shop in NYC

Pier 1 Imports Pop-Up BookFORT WORTH, Texas-Pier 1 Imports has created a life-sized, pop-up book installation in Manhattan this week, as well as an original, limited-edition holiday pop-up catalog.

To bring the life-sized, pop-up book to life, Pier 1 Imports transformed an open New York City storefront in SoHo into “Pier 1 Imports: Christmas Pop-Up Storybook.” At this immersive event, people will walk through a storybook to discover magical scenes and colorful vignettes from some of Pier 1 Imports’ Christmas style stories, including Plaid Tidings, Frosted Noel, Home Sweet Holiday and Champagne Shimmer. As part of the installation, Pier 1 Imports teamed up with singer Mariah Carey to create a modern day holiday story featuring a nod to her iconic hit, “All I Want For Christmas is You.”

The installation will be open to the public Dec. 2–6 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 503 Broadway.

Pier 1 Imports also partnered with award-winning paper engineer Bruce Foster to create a limited-edition, holiday pop-up catalog (http://www.pier1.com/pier1popup) that highlights some of its Christmas style stories. It is being mailed to select customers.

“Pier 1 Imports is at its best during the holiday season with the latest design trends and fresh takes on traditional favorites,” said Eric Hunter, executive vice president of marketing. “Pier 1 Imports offers something for everyone each season, and this year we wanted to showcase our one-of-a-kind holiday merchandise in an extraordinary way.”
