Rugs | Vibrant in Vegas | August 2013

Summer's sizzling and so are the introductions in the rug category. Several major designer licensed collections have debuted--including Oriental Weavers' Pantone line, Safavieh's Isaac Mizrahi collection and Nourison's line with Kathy Ireland--bringing even more color and style to the floor. Other launches have been rich in designs and hues as well, and in a number of constructions. The consumer has a lot to look forward to.


  • Feizy
    Feizy adds two new designs to its Tesoro collection bamboo and wool rugs in its Fine collection, including Tesoro II-7206F Rouge here.
  • Foreign Accents
    In Foreign Accents’ Boardwalk collection, this design (#BWQ4510) is handtufted of wool and art silk in a contemporary style.
  • Oriental Weavers
    Oriental Weavers’ new license with Pantone includes the new crosswoven Expressions collection, which was inspired by mid-century abstract expressionists.
  • Company C
    Company C will be showing its Fall 2013 collection at market, which includes the Gala Paprika design, handtufted of 100 percent wool in India and GoodWeave certified.
  • Capel
    In its new licensed line with blogger CocoCozy , Capel will show the Oxford design, a simple pattern in an Indo-Tibetan weave and handknotted of 100 percent New Zealand semi-worsted wool.
  • Kas Rugs
    Kas Rugs’ Solstice collection of handwoven transitional dhurries, made of polyester chenille in India, has expanded to include four new designs, #4003 Black and White Diamonds shown here, in four sizes.
  • Safavieh
    Safavieh’s comprehensive program of cross-category cowhide rugs, accent furniture, decorative pillows and lamps will include this new faux cowhide rug design, in two patterns and three colorways.
  • Momeni
    Made in China, the Bliss collection from Momeni is handtufted of polyester and, inspired by modern tiles, features hand-carving for added depth and texture.
  • Alliyah
    This handwashed, handcarved and handmade tufted rug in Alliyah’s Fashion-N-You line is made in India of New Zealand blended wool.
  • Nourison
    Nourison’s Amore collection of shag rugs features a beautiful pile and bold colors. Powerloomed of polypropylene in Turkey.
  • Rizzy
    Shown here in style #SG8006, Rizzy’s Swing collection consists of dhurries handwoven of a New Zealand wool blend in India.
  • Loloi
    Loloi’s Luxe collection is handloomed of 100 percent viscose and available in seven jewel-tone colors. It features alternating stripes of cut pile and looped yarn and includes ombre effects.
  • Shaw
    In Shaw’s World Market collection, which has traditional, global and contemporary styling in wool, the new Palmetto Bay line is a casually chic flatweave collection of natural fibers and brilliant colors.
  • Trans-Ocean
    Designed by Liora Manné for Trans-Ocean, the wool Amrita collection, the Primitif design shown here, features scraffito-like designs combined with a solid-colored background.
  • American Rug Craftsmen
    American Rug Craftsmen debuts its first indoor/outdoor rug collection, Panoramic. Crafted of olefin, Panoramic rugs are made in the U.S. and include the design Mosaic Fountain here.
  • Surya
    Designer Beth Lacefield injects color and bold pattern into Surya’s Calaveras collection, which provides a fresh new take on both classic tribal patterns and highly organic designs.
  • Karastan
    A new Studio by Karastan collection, Panache is woven of soft nylon on Van de Weile looms in the U.S. and includes the Serengeti Gallery design in black here.
  • C&F
    C&F Enterprises will debut such geometric designs as the Tazzo rug, which uses corals and tans together in a chevron pattern. Washable, it’s available in a 2-by-3.
  • Jaunty
    From Jaunty’s Laguna collection, this design (#LG391 Fiesta) is handtufted of 100 percent wool with accents of viscose in India.
