Cooks'Wares Owner Fricke Dies

 CINCINNATI-Paul Fricke, owner of Cooks'Wares here died on Aug. 12. Fricke, a longtime Gourmet Catalog store member and group advisor, was 66.

 

"We truly are saddened by this loss of a dear friend and industry confidant," said Janis Johnson, president of Gourmet Catalog. "Our world will be less perfect without Paul's informed advice, his excellent product knowledge, and his ongoing bottom-line commentary. He will be missed."

 

A retailer since the age of 17, Fricke rose to the ranks of senior vice president at Lazarus. He founded Cooks'Wares with his wife Mary, son Steve and daughter Sharon in 1992.

Memorials may be made in his memory to The Lustgarten Foundation, a pancreatic cancer research organization, at lustgarten.org.
