Dallas Market Center Searching for Generous Retailers

DALLAS-Dallas Market Center has launched its second annual The Next Big Give contest, a national search for specialty retailers that are giving back in their communities through volunteering, raising funds or donating goods. Ten finalists will be announced on January 9, 2012, and two winners will then receive a complimentary trip to March Market in Dallas (March 22-25, 2012), including round-trip airfare from anywhere in the continental U.S. and three nights hotel stay. While at market, The Next Big Give winners will be recognized during The Inspired Event, a cocktail party benefiting a charitable cause.

"It's amazing to see the many different ways retailers are serving others and their communities," said Cindy Morris, COO, Dallas Market Center. "Last year's winners inspired us, as well as other retailers. We look forward to hearing more stories of generosity."

The deadline for applications is December 9, 2011, and the contest is open to specialty retailers operating their stores in the continental U.S. Retailers may nominate themselves or be nominated by a manufacturer, a sales representative or customer. The finalists and winners will be selected by a panel of industry experts and Dallas Market Center representatives. The application is available at www.dallasmarketcenter.com/give. Many expected 2016 would be a banner year, but the political and economic climate softened consumer confidence. It was also a year consumers spent more lavishly on home remodeling rather than decorating.
