Dollar General Adds Cracker Barrel's Cochran to Board

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.-Sandy Cochran, president and CEO of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, has been elected to the Dollar General board of directors.

Cochran's election brings the number of Dollar General board members to nine, and the total number of independent directors to five. The board now has a majority of independent directors with her election. She will serve on the board's audit committee.

Cochran joined Cracker Barrel in April 2009 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. She was named president and chief operating officer in November 2010, and was named CEO in September 2011. Prior to her career at Cracker Barrel, she served in a number of high-level executive positions at Books-A-Million, including president, CEO and director.
