Family Dollar Opens 7,000th Store

MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Family Dollar is conducting the grand opening its 7,000th store location today.
The store is located here and is constructed with "green" elements, according to a company statement. "This new store is a special example of our expansion and growth as a nationwide retailer, but gives us a venue to show customers our appreciation by creating an even better, more compelling shopping experience for their families," said Howard Levine, Family Dollar's chairman and CEO.
The company is marking the occasion with a $7,000 donation to the Mid-South Food Bank. In addition, members of the community are being offered an exclusive shopping event. Family Dollar is awarding coupons to store visits and donors throughout the day.
