Family Dollar Ups Zucker to Merchandising Operations Post

MATTHEWS, N.C.-Scott Zucker has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president of merchandise operations at Family Dollar.

The appointment puts Zucker in charge of driving the strategy and execution of merchandise initiatives, category management, merchandise planning and replenishment. He reports to Michael Bloom, president and chief operating officer.

Zucker joined Family Dollar in 2006 after a career with BearingPoint Consulting, working with a number of retail organizations. He began with the dollar-store retailer as divisional vice president of pricing, and was promoted in 2007 to vice president of merchandise operations. Most recently, he served as vice president of IT solutions.
