Gilt Groupe Expanding Home

NEW YORK-Now online shoppers can have more Gilt in their homes too.
Gilt Groupe, one of the first and perhaps the largest of the online sellers of luxury brands at discounted prices, is launching an expanded Gilt Home offering today. It says it will feature an average of 15 home sales a week from some 200 brands, including Cuisinart, Kyocera, Ligne Roset and Missoni Home.
Its home expansion puts it in more direct competition with OneKingsLane, the home-only site launched last year. Other sites in the space, sometimes called pop-up or sample sales, include RueLaLa and HauteLook, each of which has also been adding more home recently.
Gilt says it has more than two million members. Its site will now feature a wide assortment of home merchandise, including indoor and outdoor furniture, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, tabletop, bedding, gourmet food, curated art events, housewares and electronics.
The site also will feature editorial content including interviews with home designers on the Gilt blog.
"Our member is a sophisticated individual who looks for luxury in every aspect of his or her life, including their home," said Stefan Pepe, general manager of Gilt Home. "What we are doing now is offering a curated selection of products in a wide variety of categories for the home each day."
