Gilt Home Names Delavan Editorial Director

NEW YORK-Interior designer and former editor-at-large of Domino magazine Tom Delavan was announced as Gilt Home's new editorial director last night at a dinner Gilt Home hosted for press and interior designers. Gilt Home, as previously announced, will relaunch its site this fall, to include full-priced and one-of-a-kind items as well as editorial content and its flash sale component.

This move follows the strategy parent company Gilt Groupe laid out for its newly launched Gilt Taste, led by former Gourmet editor Ruth Reichl. Unlike Gilt Taste, however, Gilt Home will retain its flash sales component.

The dinner introduced the attendees to Jason Goldberger, appointed as general manager, home, in June, and Shane Reilly, founder of Decorati.com, which Gilt Groupe acquired in March.

Many expected 2016 would be a banner year, but the political and economic climate softened consumer confidence. It was also a year consumers spent more lavishly on home remodeling rather than decorating.
