HavertysATLANTA-Havertys logged second-quarter sales of $171.9 million, an increase of 12.9 percent, according to a preliminary report on the quarter which ended on June 30.

The rise in sales included a pickup of 11.2 percent in same-store sales. The quarter's sales total brought sales for the year's first six months to $357.2 million, up 13.4 percent over the same period of last year and including a same-store sales increase of 11.3 percent.

"The execution of our merchandising and marketing strategies continues to deliver solid sales growth and market-share gains," said Clarence Smith, Havertys' chairman, president and CEO.
