HSN Ups Brand to Lead Marketing, Business Development

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-Bill Brand has been promoted to chief marketing and business development officer for HSN Inc., a newly created position for the multichannel retailer.

The move has put Brand in charge of setting overall marketing standards and direction for HSN and the company's Cornerstone portfolio of seven lifestyle brands, drive the growth of the customer database and continue to foster relationship with key brands. He also oversees communications and corporate social-responsibility initiatives. He reports to CEO Mindy Grossman.

Previously, Brand was the company's executive vice president of programming, marketing and business development. He joined HSN in 2006.

HSN has also promoted Andy Sheldon, previously executive vice president of TV, live events and creative, to chief creative officer and general manager of HSN Productions. He is responsible for building the company's live music and entertainment business in his new post.
